Instructor Qualifications

Interested in teaching with us? Learning Design Group, LLC instructors are responsible for developing creative, interactive, and intellectually stimulating courses for our students. All of our instructors will be given personalized training as needed for successful teaching online. Even those instructors new to the online learning environment are able to be successful as an online instructor. Our tutorial is a first step to learning how to teach online. We will be there along the way to offer guidance, tips and tools to increase your comfort level and abilities.

Our goal for students is to have the best possible learning environment they can and our instructors are key for that to happen. Our instructors are not only subject matter experts, but they design their courses, facilitate online discussions and interactions with students, evaluate student work, keep students on task, and create an effective online community.

In addition to answering your questions about teaching and learning online, Learning Design Group, LLC also provides a facilitated instructor training program. Every instructor who teaches for LDG must complete this training program or satisfactorily demonstrate the required competencies.

Here are the qualifications we believe give us the best instructors out there!!!

Professional Development and Academic Success Courses

  • A Masters or Doctoral degree in an applicable area of study granted from a regionally accredited institution and a minimum of two years experience directly applicable to the area/subject to be taught.
  • Proficiency in writing and communication
  • Comfort level with computers and reasonable computer skills including but not limited to email and word processing with abilities in chat, discussions, audio and/or video a plus
  • Three or more years work experience in the area of teaching interest

Personal Enrichment Courses

  • An expertise in a specific art, craft, hobby or other creative skill
  • Other documented credentials or certifications in the area of teaching interest

We openly encourage course development but Learning Design Group, LLC reserves the right to refuse any courses with content we feel is not acceptable to our students.

Instructor Benefits

Support – All of our instructors focus on what they do best – teach. We help with the technical support, passwords, payments, etc. Our online tutorial provides guidance for instructors new to teaching online and any additional support needed to get your course off the ground is provided for you. You let us know what you need. Our goal for you is to have a good experience teaching and for our students to have a successful experience learning online.

Flexibility – Our instructors are able to determine how they want to format their courses. You may decide to run a course in a specific time period or a course with open, ongoing enrollment. Once our team approves of your qualifications and course content, you teach!

Marketing – We do the marketing of your courses. Through effective online marketing, you will gain valuable exposure to your course. Satisfied students will come back again and often refer others.

Compensation – Each of our instructors earns 60% of the enrollment fee (minus transaction fees) per course. The more students enrolled, the higher your compensation.

Ownership – You maintain ownership of your course content. We see each of our instructors as the Subject Matter Experts. Your content remains with you if you decide not to teach for Learning Design Group, LLC.

Fun – Last, but not least, is the fun element. You are teaching a subject you know well and enjoy teaching. What a great way to interact with motivated students, share your knowledge and expertise, and make some extra money. We enjoy linking instructors and learners!

Specifics of Payments

All instructors will receive payment checks once per month to be mailed at the end of each month. Any instructor making $600 or more in a calendar year (January to December) will receive a 1099-MISC for tax purposes. Learning Design Group, LLC will be maintaining an active database of instructor accounts for this purpose.
